There are just so many things Lorelai does that are way too precious. I know, I'm partial, but whatever. This is my blog, so I can be.
Here's my short off-the-top-of-my-head list for today:
~ When we're leaving, she will say "Pee Pow." For those of you who know me personally, you know I regularly say "peace out." Guess she's listening to me more than I thought!
~ If you ask her to repeat "more" or "please," she'll do it correctly all day long. If you ask her to put them together and say "more please," (or help please, or up please) she says "heh pee."
~ She can name over 30 animals, recognizes about 50 and produce the sounds they make. That's pretty cool to me. JD loves it when she says "meooooooooooowwwwww."
~ Even though I always joke that she's looking for a new mommy and daddy, she will sit on, hug, and kiss virtually anyone she meets. This is precious now, but I have to keep a close eye on her, because well....you know how this world is.
~ If Lorelai is watching tv or reading a book, she pretty much zones out. I can call her name, poke her in the arm, offer food; doesn't matter. She comes by it honestly, though. Her daddy has been known to do that more often than not. I don't think it's so precious when JD zones out, though.
~ She gets extremely excited when someone new walks in. And I do mean extremely excited. She does a little dance/scream that usually sends Rusty running.
~ If there is music within earshot, she will dance a little jig. I call it that simply because she looks like a little Irish step dancer.
~ Last, but not least, she loves to accessorize. She likes to put on her sunglasses ("gockies") upside down, MUST have a bow on at all times, needs to wear the right shoes with the right outfit and must wear the appropriate neckwear....
Mom's underwear. She tried to put them on and got her foot stuck, therefore stretching them out beyond being wearable again. So, around the neck is the next best option, right?

Dang. My kid doesn't do any of that.
I can beg and plead and jump up and down and stand on my head to try to get him to say please and thank you... and he just gives me go to hell looks and screams.
He's sweet like that.
Love the underwear around her neck!!! She really is a precious little girl!
And I have to give a shout out to your last post...absolutely know what you're talking about! Absolutely.
Lorelai is so cute. She is such a doll baby. I hope she and Maggie can play and meet soon. Hope all is well with school for JD. Glad to see your back in the blogosphere. I stalk the blog daily. Hope all is well with you. Take care.
1) her animal reportoire is incredible. personal fave: the elephant! -i- can't even do that!
2) once, before we had kids and knew what we were getting into, we watched a 3 year old boy for the weekend. we were taking him to the pool, and on the way, he dug around in our bag and when we got to the pool, what popped out of the backseat? a little boy with a pair of my VS panties around his neck. oh we laughed so hard. and promptly snapped a pic for his parents.
Okay, I can see and hear her doing all these things you just mentioned. But what's funny is that you actually have that link to those cute little girls doing an actual Irish jig! Wow, to see Lorelai doing that would make me laugh til I cried!
I know I have never met you or her, but I can actually picture her doing those things. You have to be one proud momma!
Thats too cute, underwear around the neck!
Wow, I can't believe she can do all that at 19 months! That is so cool! Maybe we will be staying here so I can see it for myself?!! I hope so. I am glad you posted a pic, I have been wanting to see her. Love the blonde curls!
I think your in for a real interesting ride with this little one.... she is a charater for sure! That little face just kills me though!
With a child like that you can not complain about having nothing to blog about.
She is so smart and too cute. You are going to have your hands full... If you want a flash forward to what the future might bring, you can always check out Lexie, especially with the accessories.
Lexie totally tunes out like that to the TV. It cracks me up. She, too, gets it from her daddy.
Now, if only Lorelai had the HAIR of the Irish step dancers ;) Totally kidding.
Oh, I have a tv zoner too. It's my oldest and she just sits there, slack jawed and wide-eyed. When I get her attention, I'll tell her "go brush your teeth" or whatever. She gets up in slow motion and takes one step away, still staring, still slack-jawed. Then I yell her name and she jumps a mile. One time she told me "sorry mom, I was locked up with the TV." I'll say! Now I just snap it off if I need to get her attention.
She is just so precious, even with panties around her neck! heehee.
By the way, that little tv trance? It quickly gets old, as you have already discovered with your hubby. I have 3 boys and their dad who all go there within seconds and are impossible to rouse. argh.
Have a beautiful day with your lovely girl.
Tulip enjoys trying to put on my bras...she hasn't gotten my panties just yet!
Sounds like Loralei does a lot of animal sounds! A TON!
you know what's funny...i'm the one running around with the kids underwear on my head.
no, i'm totally serious. i put their (clean) underwear on my head and then ask them if they know where it is. the little guys find it hilarious, the older kids not so much. (just wait until they're teenagers and i do it in front of their friends..muhahahaha)
She is so precious! Very advanced too! The panties crack me up. My daughter likes my bras...carries them on one shoulder like a purse.
That is all very awesome. I really hope Peyton starts talking at some point. She's crazy active, but no official words except the dog. Hmmmm....I guess that will be Rob's job :) For six months.
Thanks for sharing. These are all great stories. More pics please.
Yep, she is totally precious!
To bad she doesn't live closer, I am sure I would approve of her as a girlfriend for Hunter! :)
