I got to ditch the ghetto "do not disturb" sign. (reads "babies" because I want to make the baby-waker-upper feel really badly when ringing the door bell...as if more than one sleeping baby isn't enough)
Now, this is what will stop the loud interruptions during the day.
The Bell Stop. These are magnetic, so you only have to put it up when you need it. Otherwise, your doorbell is back to normal. Thanks to Amber at Helpful Household for her brilliant idea!!

I saw this sometime in the last year. Totally rocks! Every hospital ought to give one to the new mommies when they go home with their new baby.
