Cripple Creek

Okay, so I know I probably don't have any fans. Well, I was going to say more than that, but I cut myself off...I know I probably don't have any fans out there who also play the banjo, but let me tell you a little something. There is this song called Cripple Creek that "every banjo player should know." That's at least what they tell me. I now know why they call it Cripple Creek - although, they're missing a "d" in there...my fingers will no longer move correctly after playing that song.

Today I worked really hard, actually. I woke up and immediately jumped on the computer. I got through like 130 emails and did about 3/4 of the tasks I had planned. I'm doing more research on getting classes in Pinehurst, so that took up a great portion of the day. Then, let me tell you what I did at 2:00pm. I did something I haven't done in over a year. I took a nap! I took a 1/2 hour nap - in the sun - on the hammock! I was SO excited! It was so windy outside, so I put on a hoodie and brought out a blanket and a pillow and curled up in the sun. It was SO nice! I felt like I was camping there for a little bit.

Then, Kathi called me and of course, got me out of the house again. It's not that often that she doesn't have her kids, so when she doesn't, she likes to get out of the house. I don't know what it is like to be in her shoes, but I would rather go with her and enjoy the entertainment than her go out alone - which she would gladly do - wouldn't you, Kathi!? ha ha! I'll attach some pictures from the other night when we all went out in our sweats....

Then I got home and broke out the banjo. I really love that thing! Thanks again, Dad!

I'm getting really excited about JD coming home. It's starting to get a little stressful, though. I guess this is what happens when they're about to come home. I'm trying to be patient and so is he, but neither of us can wait. It's kind of like when he was getting ready to leave...we were like "all right, already - let's get this over with!" So, we'll need some good prayer going into the next 60 days!

JD got me an IPod and speaker docking station for my birthday! I absolutely love it. I know that it does a lot more things than what I know it's capable of, but I haven't figured them out yet. There is so much technology in my house and I'm SO not using any of it to full potential!

Also, Jodie and Ernie got me a fondue pot - yummy!!! Thank you so much, Jo and Ern! I can't wait to use it!!!

Here are pictures from the other night at Jumpers....they're not the best in quality, because they're from my camera on my phone, but here they are...

Oh my goodness - I almost forgot to give you the status on the satin sheets...not a huge fan. They look pretty, but when I woke up this morning, almost everything on the bed was on the floor....the two comforters, the top sheet, three of my four pillows and half of me. So, I'm going to try them one more night (because I'm too lazy to change the sheets right now) and then I'll probably take 'em off later. Anyone want some slightly used satin sheets?

How funny, a couple of months ago you didn't even know what an iPod was, lol. I'm proud.
