Welcome, my precious little angel...

Well, everyone is probably aware by now that little Lorelai Sinclair finally made her appearance on Saturday afternoon. We are SO glad to finally have her here. She is such a joy. And, if I do say so myself, I think she's rather adorable too.

It's taken me so long to get into the routine of things ... well, I'm still not there yet, really. I have Lorelai laying down on me while I'm typing now. It's not very comfortable, so I'll keep this short.

I went into the hospital at 3:30am on Saturday, December 30th. My contractions were 3 minutes apart and when we got to the hospital, they slowed down to 5 minutes apart. However, I was 7 cm dilated and didn't even realize it. They admited me and by then I was already 9-10 cm and ready to have the baby. If I wasn't such a baby myself, I could have had Lorelai 15 minutes later. But, even with making it to full dilation with no drugs, I still wanted them. I got 'em, but long story short - they wore off by the time I had her. I pushed for about an hour-and-a-half to two hours. About an hour into it, the epidural was gone and I was freakin' out. I delivered without the drugs and had her at 2:16pm. It was just a tad bit exhausting, but exciting at the same time. She weighed in at 8 lbs 15ozs and is 21 1/2 inches long. I know it seems big, but that's just perfect to me!!!

We spent two nights in the hospital and went home on Monday. It's been a little rough the last five days. I didn't think the feedings every two hours were going to be a big deal. I was wrong. Who eats every two hours!!? It's crazy. No time for sleep or much of anything else, but I know it's best for her and I'll get used to it and start to learn how to multi-task a little better.

We've been to the doctor twice this week, because she has a bit of jaundice. She will be going back tomorrow to see if it's gotten better. Nothing to worry about thus far.

As I type, JD is changing command of A Co 1st BSTB. I know, he just took command not 8 months ago, but it's time for him to pass the torch to a great new company commander who will be taking the troops into battle in the next few months. Then, it's off to P.A. School for JD. I hate that I can't be at his ceremony, but I'm sure it's going well. We now have this third party to think of!

Here is a slideshow from the delivery room and a couple of day-after photos. I promise - now that things are getting a little easier and I'm getting into the swing of things, I'll have more pictures. If anyone wants to come visit, let me know. As long as you're not sick and we can plan the visit around feedings, all is well!!! :-)

Hope everyone is having a great first week of 2007!!

Awww! She is beautiful. Congrats to all of you. You gotta love that Grandma Hazel handed down those genes for having babies. You girls are built for it. Sorry about the 2 hours of pushing. Now that had to be exhausting. Brad looks like the proud grandpa.

Love the cry babies holding their crying baby shot. Isn't it just overwhelmingly beautiful. Now do you understand how I could kiss that yuckiness?

Glad you are all home and getting into a routine. It will get easier, I promise.

Love to all of you.
Kiss her once for me.
