Oh, my friend, the list. How I have missed you.

Oh, my friend, the list. How I have missed you. I will now use you like you should be used. When I have much to talk about and no snazzy way of wrapping it all together.

What's sad is, I am just so anxious to get downstairs to continue knitting some Babylegs for Lorelai. She's scooting all over the place and getting some RED little knee caps. And I refuse to put these on her!!!

Here is what is going on, in no particular order.

~ We leave on Thursday for our trip to St. Louis. JD will be able to stay with us there for about two weeks. Lorelai and I will be staying for two months. That's a lot of packing to do! Y'all know that I have to pack every article of clothing we own for Lorelai, because she will grow out of everything if we don't. And all the baby food....well, I REFUSE to buy anything at full price for her! So all of that will be coming with us. Then there's Rusty. And his kennel. And all of our clothes. We're going to St. Louis, which means in the two months we're there, we'll see everything from 100 degrees to 20 degrees. Okay, maybe not that big of a change, but our motto there is always "if you don't like the weather, wait 20 minutes, it'll change." That's some hard packing to do.

~ I also have to think about my hair. Shut it. I know that shouldn't be on my list, but it is. So, I'm getting my hair retouched on Thursday so it won't look horrible while I'm away.

~ If y'all don't read JD's Blog, he isn't in P.A. School yet. They overbooked his class and he was selected to defer until the January class. This is a God-send, because now he has time to escort us to St. Louis and stay for a while.

~ So, because JD can go with us, we'll be making a pit-stop in Kansas City to see the Brain Bus. If you don't know what that is, well....basically, JD is trying out for Jeopardy. Yep, that's right. If you know us well, you know that games like Trivial Pursuit are not welcome in our presence. It would only end in someone getting hurt. Physically. JD knows a whole lot about everything. Ken Jennings, watch out!!! JD has to be one of the smartest people I've ever met. Book smart, at least. (just kidding, honey) (maybe)

~ I've enrolled Lorelai in the swim classes I talked about so she'll be starting those once we arrive in St. Louis. I don't know if I'm looking forward to this or not. I might cry. A lot.

~ We had Lorelai's six-month checkup. Last week. I know, she's almost 9 months old, but with the move, we couldn't get in. And well, getting an appointment here at Ft. Sam is like trying to get backstage passes to a Justin Timberlake concert. No, I've never tried, but I'd imagine it's not easy. So, does anyone want to guess what her weight and height was at this visit? At the risk of being embarrassed that not a single one of you would guess, I'll just tell you. She is off the charts still. Weighing in at 28 pounds and 31.5 inches tall. She is basically a 9 month old in a 2 year old's body. It's funny to watch people look at her. I know they're dying to ask why she's not walking, or talking. Or why she's still drooling all over the place. But, God love 'em, most of them don't say anything. They just say "he's cute." I'm not sure that's any better. The doc says that she's perfectly fine, just a tall and big baby. If she wasn't in the 150th percentile in both height AND weight, they'd be worried and would probably call Maury Povich on us.

She didn't say that, I'm just guessing.

~ Dancing with the Stars started tonight. I know, y'all have been DYING for my commentary on a reality show. Let the stellar blogging begin. Actually, now that I think about it, that might not happen. Let me get settled in at my Dad's house in St. Louis and my completely strong blogging intentions might change. But you better believe that as soon as my mouse hits "publish post" my butt will be downstairs in the recliner with the TiVo remote in hand.

~ I'm down 22 pounds. I wish it was going a little quicker, but I'm still pleased, what with everything going on lately. So, I am not complaining. Just 28 pounds to go. That reminds me - where did my ticker go? Did anyone else notice it was missing? I guess not. Which means that y'all probably didn't pay much attention to it. Did you? Should I put it back? I mean, it's not as attention-grabbing as the Britney scandal, but it's colorful and informative, right? No? Am I still talking?

Did I mention that I have 200 pounds of baby food to pack in the mini-van?

Yeah! Glad to see you posted! Today was a day that I really truely needed to laugh, so thank you :)
Don't worry about Lorelai being off the charts, she is growing proportionally and she is healthy, nothing else matters. Seriously! And I don't understand why everyone thinks she is a boy. But then again I had the same problem with Micayla. I would introduce her to people and their response would be "Oh, it's so nice to meet you Caleb!" Hmm.
And yes, please put your ticker back up, you KNOW I noticed ;) Keep up the good work and don't get discouraged!
Hugs-

Dude, you forgot to mention that you're going to get to see me!

Man... you mention Rusty, Maury Povich, and Ken Jennings, but no mention of me.

You may have just lost one of your original blog readers!

Or not.

Most likely not.

Hey Rachel. I was just home a couple of weeks ago, but for a chance to see you maybe the kids and I will run up sometime in the next couple of months. Maybe we could arrange a Cook get together while you're home. I think everyone would love to see you and the baby. It would be really great if Carissa and Dude are planning to be in sometime and we could see everyone. If you're interested in getting together get in touch with me or Danny and we'll see what we can put together. Loralei's a sweety. 4178398181.

Have a safe trip to St. Louis!

Congrats on the lbs lost, geez girl, don't wither away on me here!

Lorelai is 28 lbs of pure cuteness, that's for sure. Tina mentioned to me the other day how pretty she is when she saw pictures on your blog, I concurred - just like her mamma.

Keep blogging, you know I am a fan! Love ya!

You better buy Peyton a pair of baby knee pads for Christmas!!! She is going to wear those like a champ. Dad and I are going to spray indust on her kneepads and let her go to town. She'll be able to pick up all the dog hair. NICE!!!!!!!

Can't wait to see the baby legs.

Miss ya -

Kel

I just had to say that I laughed so much when reading this. I am alone and burst out laughing to "he's cute!". If anyone were around they would think that I'm mad. I'm happy you are on track with your weight loss. You look great as it is so I wouldn't worry too much about the timing. I also liked your comment about JD being smart.. James is smart too.. smrt!!!
