Photo Update

I don't have a ton of time, as it's past my bedtime. But here are some photos to update you on what's been going on.

~ Lorelai likes faux-hawks - look closely~ Lorelai has a curl. That's right. A. Curl.~ Lorelai is now drinking from a sippy cup with a straw. She's such a big girl.~ Lorelai is eating finger foods. That's not a cheesy puff, by the way - it's a healthier, soggier version.~ Lorelai is crawling. I don't have a picture of this, necessarily - just video, which I will post soon. But, here's a cute picture of her anyway!~ My dear friend Jo, sent me a video (all the way from South Africa - seriously, like snail mail) to show me how her nanny folds fitted sheets smaller than a toilet paper square and how to wrap your baby on your body with a towel. That's right folks, a towel. Once I can get the video uploaded to youtube, I'll be putting it up for your viewing pleasure/use. Parents, this is sooooooo comfortable. And when you don't have your sling or Bjorn around, this is a great alternative!!! ~ I didn't know potato skins could be healthy, but here is the healthy version. I wish you could taste them! If you want the recipe, let me know. They're quick and easy to make. Full of fiber! And it makes a separate batch of mashed taters too!~ We had visitors last weekend and I can't believe I still haven't posted anything yet. Chris is my BFF from St. Louis and she brought her daughter Marissa. Lorelai loves her some company!!!~ Lorelai loves swimming~ Okay, she doesn't swim, so much as just sit there, but isn't she cute!?~ This picture makes me laugh. Out. Loud.~ And if you aren't already Lorelai'd out. Here's another.
Which leads me to this. I'm signing Lorelai up for swim lessons. This videos is a little bit long, but TOTALLY worth the watch. Especially if you are a parent. This is truly amazing. Jo has Kai in a similar program in South Africa and she's seeing it work!!!!!

Well done for mastering the "back pack". Read your blog all the time. So enjoyed meeting you all earlier this year.

Gladys is feeling like a film star and the thought of you putting her on the utube - she was estatic.

I can't believe I am typing on the blog of someone I do not know personally, but anyway...
I have seen about 5 children ages 12-23 months complete ISR over the summer, and it is amazing! They are literally swimming on their own and completely confident in the water by the end. ALso they don't panic if they fall in. Its crazy. I haven't done it personally, but I would recommend it.

Your daughter is SO cute. Her eyes and smile light up a room :)

I just noticed as I was blog stalking you right now (hee hee), your daughters name is Lorelai? OH MY! Is this from Gilmore Girls? I am a FANATIC when it comes to GG. I always said I liked the name Rory for a girl if I ever had one. If you love Gilmore Girls then me and you will get along just fine!

Hey Rachel~ All the photos are GREAT. I'm totally interested in the towel "sling" and also the fitted sheet folding -- I STINK at that. I would also love the potatoe skin recipe! Also, I think your Blog is really good-- you don't need a class -- you have a nice mix of updated personal info with some humor in there, too.

That video about the kids swimming was amazing! I've never seen anything like that before. Do you know if they offer it in St. Louis?

BTW, the lone curl is fantastic.

Aww! Well I LOVE Gilmore Girls! Its my favorite show and I am so sad that this year there won't be a new season of them. I have heard that the writer MIGHT make a 2 hour movie special or something later on down the road. I sure hope she does!

GREETINGS FROM DUBLIN, IRELAND!!

Great pictures Rach!! Lorelai is beautiful as always (and that LOL face really does make you L.O.L.)

I soooo need to go and see those videos - the towel pack looks awesome (speaking as mom who has forgotten to bring her sling with her!)

Those skins are healthy?? They look waaaayyy too good to be healthy!! Recipe please! LOL Potato skins are one of my absolute favourites!

The swim classes sound great - I have heard of them before and wish we had them here...not sure we do (an English one...my German is still not THAT good)...Ty went for her first real swim about 2 weeks ago and was not real impressed with a body of water that was so much bigger than what she's use to :)

Take care!
