Just a peek into the daily life of Lorelai for the past month...

Okay, so I've been dying to put up a video of the swim lessons, but that's just not going to happen while I'm in STL. Instead, I tried taking multiple shots of the floating sequence that Chuck (the instructor) is using with Lorelai.

Please, do NOT try this at home. Chuck is a trained professional, even though it might not be apparent in the photos (just kidding, Chuck)

Step One: Let Lorelai get face-to-face with the water...
Step Two: Drag it out a little longer... Step Three: Let her go and mentally cheer her on....(although I need to work on the mentally part)Step Four: Watch as Lorelai amazes you with her oh-so-calm-attitude-and-superior aquatic safety skills...
Step Five: Witness Lorelai flip herself over and be just an inch away from some really great fresh air...
Step Six: Relish in the fact that she's found air!!!
Hope this gives a bit of an idea as to what she's been working on. This is week four and I'm really impressed with her progress. Of course, she couldn't have done it without Chuck, so I'm thankful for him, too.

I definitely won't be turning my eyes away from Lorelai while she's at a pool. This training is not designed to let you back off on your parenting. I will, however, feel MUCH more confident in the fact that if she were to fall in, her being able to float will give me a few more seconds to get in the water to rescue her.

When I post the video, I'll show how Chuck flips Lorelai off the side of the pool - head over heels. It's pretty amazing. But, baby steps, y'all. Baby steps. I don't want to freak you out.

She looks pretty happy, doesn't she??? This is NOT torture. Trust me.

She really is! I saw it in the video.

You should really think about coming in a little earlier to watch her final lesson. I think Rachel said it was Tuesday?? I really wish I could take off work to go and see her live instead of catching it on the video reruns.

Can't wait to see you when you get back in town!!

wow, that is truly amazing. I am definitely going to enroll Christian in ISR when he is a little older and we are in an area that offers it.

OMG I just opened the email you sent from myspace of Lorelei's little booty and laughed out loud at work. Too funny!!! I couldn't figure out how to leave a msg there, so I left one here. Thanks for the laugh. :)

Of course she looks happy, she's not face down in a pool of water. Don't let this picture fool you people, I saw the video and she cries through most of it. Seriously, you have every reason to be proud of what she's accomplished, but the video she will post everyone, is not for the weak at heart! Maybe I'm just a baby, but I cried and I couldn't watch it all.
