Would you join me on my Ark? (and update on Lorelai)

We watched Evan Almighty while I was at Kelly's. Decent movie.

If you haven't seen it, here's a basic run-down without ruining the ending. Basically, God appears to Evan and tells him to build an ark for an upcoming flood, repeating the story of Noah. He does it, but nobody is on board with him....blah, blah, blah...

Randomly, the day after watching the movie, Kelly decides to tell me that if I were to build an ark, she would talk crap about me behind my back, but she'd get on it.

How about you?

If I were to build an ark, by God's direction, would you believe?

Would you join me? Honestly.

And would you talk crap behind my back? Believe me, I can take it. If you knew Kelly, you'd understand why. :-)

** Update on Lorelai
If you weren't up-to-date, Lorelai was sick this past whole month. It started with what I think was rotavirus, then after two days of health turned into the flu, and then onto unexplained high fevers. When Lorelai started spiking 104 fevers randomly and rapidly going to complete all-out-body-shaking chills, I started to think there might be something else up. Long story short, she had a urinary tract infection. That poor baby. Can't win for losing!! She's on antibiotics now and doing MUCH better! After losing 8 pounds, she actually is starting to eat again!

The docs are actually being proactive (something you don't necessarily see every day with military providers) and are checking her out with a series of tests to make sure that there isn't anything severe causing this UTI. She's endured a catheter and a blood draw, along with other non-invasive procedures that otherwise made her scream bloody murder. What do you expect? The poor girl has been poked and prodded daily this week!

Next week, they'll do another catheter to make sure the UTI is gone. Then, she'll be getting a renal ultrasound to identify the cause of blocked urine flow in a kidney (if that is the problem) and eventually a VCUG to detect possible obstructions and reflux . Basically, they want to make sure that she doesn't have anything "structurally" wrong with her that could be causing this. These tests could reduce the risk of future kidney damage and other related problems.

So, any prayers for her (and me) are greatly appreciated. For her - as little pain and fear as possible during these procedures. For me - strength to comfort her without breaking down!!

How are things with y'all????

Wow...she has really been through it all. I hope, and am sure, everything will turn out fine with the tests.

You all will definitely be in our prayers. Poor baby. It is no fun at all. At least they are not holding things back. I recently read about UTIs in babies and how a lot of hte unknown temp spikes are often related to UTIs but no one checks for them. Hang in there, Mom!

I am SOOOO sorry. I know your pain, I truly do! There is nothing worse than having your baby so sick and having no idea what's wrong with them :( Please keep us posted on her test results and we will all keep you in our prayers.

You are definitely in our prayers - both of you. Half the battle is knowing WHAT is wrong, now you are on your way to recovery!!

I have to be honest and say that I too, would probably doubt whether or not you heard from God about building an ark. But at the end of the day, at the final moment, I'd probably get on it. :) Better safe than sorry, right?

Question is, would you let all the skeptics on?

I feel your pain. We are on our third round of pneumonia. It's so hard when they are helpless and you feel helpless. Glad she's feeling better. Maybe it's a little LOD too. That's always my husband's diagnosis. It means "Lack of Daddy".

Poor, sweet girl! Praying for Lorelai's quick recovery and your sanity. You're doing great, Momma!!

Oh- and the ark...Hmmm, not knowing you all that well, I'd probably think you were a little off your rocker-- but after the first drop of rain, I'm sure I'd be knocking at your door eating some humble pie! :)

Here's to a healthy week for all of you!

I just can't belive it.... that sounds so horrible for her and you! Oh man I wish I could help. Maybe this is why babies don't remember being a baby! Take a breath and know we are all thinking of you.

Oh, about the ark, i probably would mentally diagnose you given my psych background... and maybe even discuss your "case" with friends, but given the religious component of the convictions and the otherwise seemingly normal existence I would venture on the ark if surrounded by others I trusted... unless of course i was 18 and kelly brainwashed me into whatever it is she believed about the ark. then i guess id be talking crap too ;)
btw- thanks for your post on my blog. i am only the asst coach now so its much easier. its just hard to leave my munchkin.

Bless her little heart! I am pretty sure that there's nothing scarier for Mama than a sick Little. Hope she gets to feeling better soon! (And I imagine you probably need a break, too!)

I like that people are being honest about not believing you and your ark. I definitely would help you shave your head and noah beard after we took a ride on the ark. And then I would try to grab all the attention afterwards and tell everyone that I was the new noah's best friend.

Poor LaLa! Keep us posted (not that I don't talk to you everyday!)

Awww poor little baby! She will be in our prayers.

I've seen that movie and LOVE it! At first, I'm sure I would doubt you, but I'm confident that through prayer, the Lord would confirm to me that you aren't nuts and I'd jump on the boat! :) lol

Give Lala a big kiss for me and make a dinosaur noise, so that she knows its from me. Regarding the ark, I am surrounded by JR Highers all the time. I would totally get on your ark, it is one of the better ideas Ive heard lately

Hope all goes well at the doctor's office and your little baby will feel better soon.

I would build my own ark along with you to have the car seat in and we can caravan. How does that sound?

I am so sorry about the UTI. If you have any questions about the procedures, give me a shout - we dealt with UTI's with Hanna every 4-6 months for almost 5 years - she's had EVERY test done (some more than once). Hang in there mom! :)

Rachel, I hope you get a diagnosis soon for Lorelai...poor, sweet baby. As for the Ark, if God hadn't said he'd never destroy the World again with a flood, I'd definitely join you. I'm thinking it will be a giant fire ball next time so if you receive divine guidance to build a fire retardant shelter let me know ASAP :0) Julie

Get on your ark? You can't even rent your house to anyone! :)

Poor Lorelai--I hope she's feeling better and gets over her weight loss. My niece has had a lot of those.

I'd get on the ark, but don't yell at me for chasing around the animals...
