I'm too awesome for this dress.

I've recently learned how to sew. I'm not that great, but I'm getting better, thanks to my mother-out-law. With her help and a quick trip to Goodwill, I made this dress for Lorelai.

It was a man's dress shirt. The only material I bought was the coordinating material for the pleated part at the top and around the skirt.

I also ventured out and made some bloomers without a pattern. They turned out pretty decent. Wearable, at least!! That's a bonus!

And no, I didn't do button holes and buttons....that was the front of the man's shirt. Cool, huh? I used this pattern. For those of you wondering if I first put the straps on wrong, you're so funny.

But, I DID follow the original instructions and THIS is how the sleeves/straps turned out. Then I modified and came out with the final product. Star Trek much?

Multi-talented! I wish I knew how to do that. You know, I would totally buy this creation if I saw it on etsy. Hey, something to look into for a second career?

Oh, I am in awe!!!! That is the coolest thing ever. OK, my sister and I have to try this. I have to get her help b/c my mom aka The Master Sewer doesn't "do" non-pattern type sewing.

BTW, I read your other post about sewing.

Great stroller bag!

Now get J.D. the matching shirt. That would be so adorable, especially since little girls match their mamas a lot but not their daddies!

OK, my mom has taught me to sew so many times and I keep forgetting because I don't keep steady with it. I simply ADORE this dress!!! SOOO cute! i love the first photo...it looks like she's on the runway modeling her new dress!

This is awesome! I'm so proud of you! Do you think if I found a 3XL tall shirt it would be big enough to make a dress for Ella? She would be so impressed. I think I'll try it, even if I have to improvise to get it big enough. I'll let you know how it turns out if I actually can find the time to make it.

Wow - a woman of many tallents... I still love the taggy you made Kailey. Even though she is over it now, I still find myself playing with it sometimes.

Love the idea of re-using clothes. I usually make blankets out of old clothes.

When my oldest was small I mad her a prairie dress, I still have it (I have no idea why) just too cute to get rid of.

Way to go you crafty girl you.

How stinkin' cute is that?!?!? I so wish I knew how to sew. I don't even know how to sew a button on.

You should have seen the boxers I made in Home Ec. Oh My! One leg was a daisy duke and the other leg was a bermuda short.

Not to mention the elastic waist. I wish I still had them to show you a pic.

Anyway...I love the dress! Your straps are SO much better.

Somehow your craftiness still amazes me... but by now I should expect something this cool from you. I will definitely be trying this out when I have a girl and emailing you for step by step directions, HA.
