I believe God gives each of us a gift. For some, it's singing. For others, it's counseling.
I'm a fairly new Christian, so for the last seven years I've been praying and wondering.....Lord, what is my gift? I'm either not ready to hear the answer, or it's right in front of me, and I'm not catching it.
Do you know what your gift is? If so, share it here. It's not self-serving to do so, it's praising God and today just seems like a good day to talk about it.

I think mine is praying. I think whatever your gift is, you really love doing it.
Just being you is probably also a gift :)
I think my gift is still out there somewhere, as a newer Christian myself I desire to find out what it is that God wants me to do and do it to the very best of my ability :) Good Post, this is something I don't think about too much!
Steve and I were prophesied over while at Manna in a small group setting and the "prophet" said that God had given me the gift of hospitality and Steve the gift of teaching. It was such an amazing emotional experience and to this day I feel that hospitality is a gift I believe God has given me and has been continuously asking me to cultivate for Him.
I think my gift is prayer. I pray a lot all through the day for a lot of different people and things.
Currently I am helping out with a Mothers of Preschoolers group so right now, my time with that group is a gift.
I like to think my "writing" is a gift but currently it is really only a gift to my family. Maybe one day it will be a gift to others.
I also think I have a pretty good sense of humor which I use at certain times to lift people's moods.
Maybe you are looking for one huge gift but instead you have several smaller gifts.
i have no clue what my gift is...other than producing some fine looking offspring. seriously, i think this is something everyone struggles with. have you tried to re-read some of your old posts? one that came to mind when i read this one was the one about perfect strangers that open up to you...maybe that is something worth investigating?

Making people really think. (Not that its your gift, but the post.)
I think bauer zoo is onto something re: your gift(s).
While at Manna I took a spiritual gifts test and it identified Hospitality and Wisdom as mine...which totally fits, I feel I'm communicating God's love whenever I open up my home to people and also when I'm giving counsel...(not that my counsel is always perfect!)
I believe that we don't have one gift forever, but that God gives us gifts to use for the places and time that we are in. How has God been using you lately? Maybe He's showing you the gift he's given you for "such a time as this"
Love you!
I think there is a book published that talks about the spiritual gifts and then has the test in the back??? Maybe that would help.
I think my gift is prayer to others and trying to be a good listener with family and friends.
I took a test a while ago and I feel it's probably right with my gift being teaching. When I was in the classroom, I felt like that was the place God called me. Now I feel it is to be a teacher to my daughter (morals, right from wrong, letters/numbers, etc.) and I have the same peace now that I did then that I am within His perfect will.
I took a Sunday school course at church about discovering your gift. I learned so much and really got to see where my strengths are. I give through my art and words, which were gifts that I feel truly blessed to have.

I have spent a lot of my life being hung up on this question. I am realizing that I have been given many gifts. I have been given discernment and wisdom when I have needed it. I have a very compassionate heart and God has used me, even in my blog to speak to other's hearts. So things like that, that I maybe didn't give much thought to or value to, God has used to minister to others.
I know that I have been touched by your writing on many occasions, and am sure that is just one of your gifts.
I think my gift it to teach....I've been a classroom teacher for over 12 years (oh how I hate to admit that!) and now I am moving into a different area of teaching...but I do love working with children and seeing them learn!
I have no idea what mine is. I have been told that I am a good listener. I am super compassionate and empathetic. A good friend recently wrote me that she felt sure my willingness to be a crossing guard at the elementary school was a ministry - safely crossing all the kids. But, is it a gift?
I guess ringing handbells at church might be considered the gift of music. Great topic!
I think that music/singing is definitely one of the things that God has given me, as well as many things related to "communications." I also can plan events, and host/entertain as I love having people in my home. I love to give counsel/advice too, and find that many people come to me and ask for it.
Gifts come in many different packages and don't necessarily look the same in everyone. But I know that God has given everyone a talent, including you. I always ask people what it is they love to do or what brings them a lot of fulfillment, because usually that will point to the root of something that God has intended to be a gift.
I've been a Christian for 25 years and am also still searching for my gift...I agree with you.... sometimes it's hard to pin point when it isn't something obvious like a great singing voice. Humor is definitely one of your gifts and you also dole out some great advise...very helpful :0)

I think it's awesome that you desire to find your gift. The Lord is so awesome to give us such blessed gifts! Mine are discernment, compassion and counseling. Praying that we all nurture our gifts. :-)
God is good!
