You and Wil should talk. Everyday he would go, "THAT is an olympic sport?" The list includes handball, canoeing, synchronized swimming,...etc. But he LOVES ping pong. Go figure.
But, I came on to say that I actually took a power walking elective class for 2 semesters in college. It came "close" to what this looks like. But my body was not, or is not, that little. I guess that's what I get for taking it as an elective and not actually training for this... sport. I could have been in the Olympics. :)
Where were the other "racers" ?? Isn't "speed-walking" an oxymoron? Is it a race if there is only one competitor? Hmmmm...I have way more questions than answers.
Too funny! I wonder what my body would look like if i took up spped walking. Bet it would be funny with my prosthetic...i am laughing outloud right now thinking of it. I think i'll stick with my slow morning walks!
It's as if all her body parts move independent of each other.
Ugh!
I was wondering, too, were there any competitors? Or was it, "Russia wins the Gold Medal! And the silver! And since she's the only one here, she also gets the bronze!"
Yes, mom used to speed walk. Yes, she used to look JUST like that. Yes, there DOES look like there's something wrong with her little body. Is there NO way to walk fast without looking like a marionette?
Your mom looked just like that when she did it! I always thought she looked goofy but she was totally serious about it! Wonder what she would think about it being an Olympic event?!?!?

Ha ha. I have a friend whose cousin competed in the Olympics for speedwalking a while back. No joke.
That might have been the most uneventful thing I have ever seen. The finish was just so...expected. I would be like, "I'm too bored to finish this."
All the previous comments crack me up! :)

Ha! It looks like she's running in slow motion, especially when it's from the torso and up.
I must have missed that event... darn my luck!
Thanks for giving me a peek. lol
Love,
Your favorite cousin
That was creepy. And it looks very uncomfortable. You know the whole time she is just really wanting to break out into a trot!

How odd is that?!?! I have to agree with your title...SERIOUSLY? Maybe for the next Olympics they'll have a skipping race.
This lady freaks me out!
