Please tell me this is a joke.

Electric bill for August.

SERIOUSLY!?

This is ridiculous! When we get to Virginia, I'm opening all the windows during the summer and layering up with clothes during the winter. Of course I'm kidding, but really.....

Welcome to Texas! Ours has been as high as $500 in the peak of summer, and we turn it up when we're not at home. But at least it will be really low in the winter. :)

I.KNOW.! Ugggghhhh

Our AC downstairs just went out...pretty sad that the first thing I thought of was, 'at least it will help our power bill'...cranking fans and closing curtains. Not down with the $5000 new unit and the power bill to almost match. lol

WOW! And I thought it was bad when we go over $200. OUCH.

I hear ya on that one, girl! I can't wait until we rarely use it in the "winter." The only perk.

When we first got here, I was kind of sad about having to live on post, but now I can't say that I miss paying utility bills.

Mine is $326.16 this month. It has been over $300 every month for the LAST THREE MONTHS!!!

I can't wait for Texas to realize Fall has arrived.

I totally feel your pain! We participate in an averaging plan - even so our average bill is about $310 all year long - actual usage in the summer peak is around $450. And to think I wanted a bigger and a 2-story house. :D

ours was $398 and $494 last month. it's unbelievable.

Holy moly!!!

If it helps... our gas bill has been $1200 a month or so this year... *gulp* It pains me to even think about it. 8o]

Your all making me feel good about our bill that has yet to go over $165, which I almost fell over when I saw. I don't know about living in texas???

Your amazing - all that's going on in your life and your thinking about the electric bill in December..... you certainly are a multi-tasker.

Joanne and Deric said...

Im a dum-what - your talking about your electric bill now... ohhhh got it..... just ignore me!!!!!!

Is it not freakin' rediculous?!?!? The electric bill is by far my least favorite bill. We dread it every month!

I'm guessing it's a "Texas" thang?

Okay, so with being laid off, sick for a week and in the hospital a couple days last month, I was two months behind on my electric bill. I just checked mine today....It was $107 for two months, do you wanna hit me now :)

If it makes you feel any better I still hate Missouri weather :)

I'm sure it's a joke Those power company people always have a great sense of humor. They were probably giggling as they put the bill in the envelope. Just ignore it.

Remember, everything's bigger in Texas.

Umm if it makes you feel better, last winter my heating bill was over $90 in December. Which doesn't sound bad until you remember it was for a house that nobody was living in!!!!!!

YIKES! I will never complain about my bill again.

Just stoppin' by again to thank you for the supportive comment yesterday...you're awesomeness! :)

Goodness! I always thought it cost more to run the heat than the air?

We just moved into a bigger house and I dread the first bill.... were only use to $140 at the most and that's in the winter.

Gotta LOVE TExas! Ours has been as high as $532, and that's with setting the dial at 79 and NO LOWER 24/7! We also live in an "energy efficient" rated home ~ yeah, right!! :-)

Hey! My first time to your blog! I cannot believe our bill either. My hubby called me from work today and said 'WHAT in the world?!' CRAZY stuff. Anyhow, looking forward to reading more! Cheers!

Ours was $299....and we have a pool. I am a HUGE believer that you have to have a thermastat that you can set the temp to change throughout the day....just a thought, but ya'll are leaving...so let the next residents deal with that!!! Also, GVEC SUCKS!!!! Ever look at the "delivery" fees????? What the heck is that????

WOW...I am suddenly very happy we don't pay utilities here because with Tel Aviv heat, I do not want to know what the a/c costs on a house this size!

Ours was $400 in July and August. I'm SO looking forward to the October cool down, and I use the term cool down loosely because many days we can go to the beach in the middle of December. But our electric bill does go down a significant amount around the October.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I will be praying tomorrow as you go for those tests.

Yikes! That is scary! Will you have low bills in the winter months or do you still get cold in the winter?

Thanks for stopping by my possum post. It was great to get your comment.

Well, I should go I have a 4 year old begging for lunch. She is litterly sitting on my sholders trying to rip my head off! Turkey sandwich anyone?

Thanks SO much for your kind comments on my blog! They made my day. Did you participate in "I See What You're Saying"? I was looking for a video but I didn't find one.

Blessings,

Cindy

Texas smexas, I live in Missouri and my last electric bill was $30 more than yours!

I cannot wait this next month (as we have had cooler weather) so I do not go into sticker shock again.

Mine was ridiculous for August - like $450 or something.

And that part in the red up there....I just might have had a little there.
