What do babies, Richard Simmons and apples have in common?

Nothing. Other than the fact that you can google search all three and find them in this post.

For those of you who think I'm pregnant, I'll clear the muddy water....

I am not.

Sadly.

I wish that were the case. I got blood work in preparation for getting pregnant! We've been trying for a year now. We realize it might take a while, but I'm not getting any younger, so we're trying to rule out issues while we can.

I was tired because of the blood work. I get all stressed out when I have to get a needle the size of a pvc pipe in my arm. I feel like they took a gallon of blood, even though it was just eight viles.

After a new friend told me about this not-so-new aerobics class, I decided to give it a try. It's a class that has been around for a long time. I've heard of it often. And every time I heard the word, I giggled.

Tell me what you think of when you hear the word Jazzercise?

Yep, me too. I totally expect to see Richard Simmons running out with his way-too-short shorts and way-too-high socks telling me (and all the 90-year old women in the class) that we are good enough to sweat to the oldies with him.

As a matter of fact, "Sweatin' with the Oldies" was going to be the title of this blog post as I was on my way to class this morning. However, about 10 minutes into it I realized my title would have to change. I realize it's sad that I was thinking about my blog while working out, but they had childcare...what else was I supposed to think about!?

Every song the SUPER-TONED instructor played was current and funky. There was rock 'n roll, hip hop, R&B, it was great! And the dance moves were ... just that ... dance moves. Who knew I was going to plie and releve like I did so many years ago in dance class!? There were hardly any mirrors, so I wasn't able to be disgusted with the way my body was moving.

Oddly enough, Alyssa and I didn't bring down the average age of the class that much. I was certain we'd be the youngest by 30 years. That wasn't the case. And the 50-year old instructor (did I mention how great of shape she was in?) did the high-impact version while instructing AND singing....while I broke for water every few minutes and had to take it down a few times because my poor heart couldn't handle it.

So, needless to say, I will be continuing my healthy eating by Weight Watchers and signing up rightthissecond for Jazzercise full time. That's four days a week. I will be keeping my measurements, so hopefully you'll see some significant changes in the months to come.

Don't expect me to drive around with a Jazzercise sticker on the car, though. I'm not sure I'll go that far. Yet.

If you're interested, find a class near you. (and no, I'm not getting paid to blog about this)

On another note, is it possible to eat so many apples you could explode? I've had two today and I'm thinking one could have been my limit. Anyone else ever make that mistake?

Yeah, apples are not something I could eat more than one of a day. Oranges, however...

I totally know what you are talking about with "new" jazzercise because we checked it out one time. I swear their logo should be not your mother's jazzercise. My mom talks about how it has changed since I was little.

Did you ever do Mousercise? I totally did when I was little. I know random thought.

OK, well keep up the hard work with working out and eating. Hopefully that iwll help with getting pregnant.

Just wait until Lorelai is almost 3 because then she can walk around and tell everyone you are pregnant, when you are not. And even that you are having twins. I must shoot down 1 pregnancy rumor a day thanks to Lexie.

Hey, don't knock Sweathin' with the Oldies!! My mom has a VHS of "Richard Simmons and the Silver Foxes" and post-baby, it was JUST RIGHT! It got me started anyway and it's hard to feel bad about yourself when everyone on the screen is either, you know RICHARD, or 70 years old. (They are celebrities' parents) OK--here it is, they actually still sell it! :) http://www.amazon.com/Richard-Simmons-Silver-Foxes-Citizens/dp/B00004RE5L

Anyway, I'm just saying Richard helped me in those days when Jazzercise was TOO much for me.

And becs, I have Mousercised too!

Good luck with the trimming. And the baby making.
Take care,

I will be praying for an upcoming pregnancy in the Huse household. God has it all in His plan :)

Chelsea's mom does Jazzercize I think... and she is in SUPER shape. I think it sounds fun.

When I was pregnant I ate at least one apple a day, sometimes 2 and yes I agree, one is enough.

I don't know about apples but I know someone who eats a ton of carrots all the time and always feel sick afterwards. I don't know why the lesson is never learned because this person does it again and again. I will keep that one apple lesson you learned in mind though.

Interesting to hear how Jazzercise is fresh, hip, and all that. I never would have imagined!

Just prayed for your new addiiton, when and however the Lord decides to send him or her.

Apples can fill you up pretty quick. One is more than enough. Don't you know the saying: "AN apple a day keeps the doctor away", not TWO apples a day!

Blessings to you!

I tried for some time to get preggos and then gave up and started to get healthy...I lost about 15 lbs and got pregnant. I think a lot of it had to do with me being on Atkins b/c I have diagnosed myself with PCOS. It will happen in time!
