Cheap Makeup
So, we made it to Dad's safely. We hit 7 traffic jams and Lorelai decided to show us her projectile vomiting skills. All those fun things set us back quite a bit. But other than that, Lorelai was an angel and we made it safely.
JD tried out for Jeopardy and got 7 out of 10 questions right. I guess that wasn't good enough, because he didn't get a call back. Oh well. It was fun for him and it's now a personal goal of his to eventually get on the show!!
I wanted to share with y'all a little find from my friend Jennifer. This company was bought out by Nordstroms and are selling all their makeup for $1.00 each. Some things are bundled, but almost everything is $1.00. Then you get 50% off orders up to $15.00. I got 39 items for $39.00 - including shipping!

Enter "Carolina" as the promotion code to get 50% off part of your order.
Thank me.
We are going to see Storm now and hopefully I'll get to update with photos from our trek from TX.

Oh, my friend, the list. How I have missed you.
Oh, my friend, the list. How I have missed you. I will now use you like you should be used. When I have much to talk about and no snazzy way of wrapping it all together.
What's sad is, I am just so anxious to get downstairs to continue knitting some Babylegs for Lorelai. She's scooting all over the place and getting some RED little knee caps. And I refuse to put these on her!!!
Here is what is going on, in no particular order.
~ We leave on Thursday for our trip to St. Louis. JD will be able to stay with us there for about two weeks. Lorelai and I will be staying for two months. That's a lot of packing to do! Y'all know that I have to pack every article of clothing we own for Lorelai, because she will grow out of everything if we don't. And all the baby food....well, I REFUSE to buy anything at full price for her! So all of that will be coming with us. Then there's Rusty. And his kennel. And all of our clothes. We're going to St. Louis, which means in the two months we're there, we'll see everything from 100 degrees to 20 degrees. Okay, maybe not that big of a change, but our motto there is always "if you don't like the weather, wait 20 minutes, it'll change." That's some hard packing to do.
~ I also have to think about my hair. Shut it. I know that shouldn't be on my list, but it is. So, I'm getting my hair retouched on Thursday so it won't look horrible while I'm away.
~ If y'all don't read JD's Blog, he isn't in P.A. School yet. They overbooked his class and he was selected to defer until the January class. This is a God-send, because now he has time to escort us to St. Louis and stay for a while.
~ So, because JD can go with us, we'll be making a pit-stop in Kansas City to see the Brain Bus. If you don't know what that is, well....basically, JD is trying out for Jeopardy. Yep, that's right. If you know us well, you know that games like Trivial Pursuit are not welcome in our presence. It would only end in someone getting hurt. Physically. JD knows a whole lot about everything. Ken Jennings, watch out!!! JD has to be one of the smartest people I've ever met. Book smart, at least. (just kidding, honey) (maybe)
~ I've enrolled Lorelai in the swim classes I talked about so she'll be starting those once we arrive in St. Louis. I don't know if I'm looking forward to this or not. I might cry. A lot.
~ We had Lorelai's six-month checkup. Last week. I know, she's almost 9 months old, but with the move, we couldn't get in. And well, getting an appointment here at Ft. Sam is like trying to get backstage passes to a Justin Timberlake concert. No, I've never tried, but I'd imagine it's not easy. So, does anyone want to guess what her weight and height was at this visit? At the risk of being embarrassed that not a single one of you would guess, I'll just tell you. She is off the charts still. Weighing in at 28 pounds and 31.5 inches tall. She is basically a 9 month old in a 2 year old's body. It's funny to watch people look at her. I know they're dying to ask why she's not walking, or talking. Or why she's still drooling all over the place. But, God love 'em, most of them don't say anything. They just say "he's cute." I'm not sure that's any better. The doc says that she's perfectly fine, just a tall and big baby. If she wasn't in the 150th percentile in both height AND weight, they'd be worried and would probably call Maury Povich on us.
She didn't say that, I'm just guessing.
~ Dancing with the Stars started tonight. I know, y'all have been DYING for my commentary on a reality show. Let the stellar blogging begin. Actually, now that I think about it, that might not happen. Let me get settled in at my Dad's house in St. Louis and my completely strong blogging intentions might change. But you better believe that as soon as my mouse hits "publish post" my butt will be downstairs in the recliner with the TiVo remote in hand.
~ I'm down 22 pounds. I wish it was going a little quicker, but I'm still pleased, what with everything going on lately. So, I am not complaining. Just 28 pounds to go. That reminds me - where did my ticker go? Did anyone else notice it was missing? I guess not. Which means that y'all probably didn't pay much attention to it. Did you? Should I put it back? I mean, it's not as attention-grabbing as the Britney scandal, but it's colorful and informative, right? No? Am I still talking?
Did I mention that I have 200 pounds of baby food to pack in the mini-van?

I'm at a loss for blog entries lately
Yep, that's right. For once, I'm having trouble finding something to talk about. There is a lot going on in the family and I have a load on my mind. I will start being a better blogger this week. I promise that to you, my readers.
All six of you.
In the meantime, I haven't been lacking when it comes to appropriately being a Secret Stalker Reader to others' sites. I want to share a particular one with you today. Many of you nursing (or expecting) mothers get a forward once in a while from me with the Magical Milk Picture of the Week. Those are from a self-proclaimed "pseudo-crunchy woman" at Welcome to My Brain. Today she has a terrific post on marriage. It's fairly short, so pop on over and check it out. I love how she describes "for worse."
Enjoy
Have a great Sunday, everyone!
( I'm dying to say God is Love, Rev Run....and if you don't have a clue what I'm talking about, don't worry.)

Under Construction
Looks like my page is having some problems. You'll see a different side of me until I can get it all back. I might go with something a little bit funkier while I'm at it! :-)
For now, here is one of the 100 photos we took trying to get our perfect family photo. Apparently, JD was trying to figure out the timer. It works, JD.....nice face!

As promised
Today is just another day at the Huse Household. Nothing going on. Lorelai is currently singing in her crib. She's supposed to be napping. I'm getting ready to work out, clean and get our menus planned for the week. I know, pretty exciting!
I've been at a severe loss for blog material for the past few weeks. Okay, really for the past few years. So, I decided to go back to the beginning of my blogging days and I found something very interesting. Two years ago TODAY, I started blogging. What I found interesting is that my blogging has not gotten much better since then. That stinks! Why I thought (or think) that people want to know about my boring days is beyond me. I believe that it's time to find a class on blogging. Or writing. Or keeping your random thoughts not so random. Look, a butterfly!
As promised, we worked on family photos yesterday. It took almost 100 photos to get a few that were actually somewhat decent. In some of them we attempted to get Rusty to sit. But, if a dog is in the photo, Lorelai is surely not looking at the camera. It finally took us setting up a mirror behind the camera so Ms. Thang could see herself before she would actually smile or look up. Maybe later I'll post some of our bloopers.

Two Out of Four Ain't Bad!
It's been good, it's been bad,
But so much fun we've really had
Today we celebrate four years,
So here's to all the laughter and tears
Okay, I realize that an "us then" and "us now" is probably silly, as it's only been four years. However, I realized today that the "us now" photo is from our third anniversary. It's really sad that since our third anniversary, I don't have a single picture on record of us together. Aside from the one where JD is handing Lorelai to me in the hospital, but that's just not an attractive one.
If anyone else has pictures of us, let me know. Otherwise, it will be my mission today, to get a good family picture.
