There's a new artist in town.
Oh, Sara, you're going to laugh when you see this. Sara is my awesome artist cousin.
Remember when I bought this?
Well, part of it is primed and it's still sitting there waiting to be finished. But, it's a pain in the butt. Remind me, next time I want to re-do a piece of furniture, how much I hate it.
If it can't be spraypainted, I prolly don't want it.
Unless it's really really cheap. Then maybe.
Well, I definitely needed to change the ugly drawer pulls, so I bought these. Pretty huh?
I think they have great shape, but the 80s gold just isn't doing it for me.

Then, spraypainted them white and had Lorelai paint the rest; flowers, butterfly, etc.
As I'm sure you're aware, that is SO not true. But it sounds so much better to say that Lorelai painted them and let people be amazed, then to say I painted them and be really embarrassed.
What!? Did you think I was above using my daughter?

I also picked up a package of 14 porcelain drawer pulls at the thrift store for $1.98.
I looked around to make sure someone wasn't playing a joke on me.
They are porcelain. For just over ten cents each!? That's pure crazy talk.

But this is what four of them look like now.
Now, if I could only get off my butt, grab a roller and finish that stupid dresser, we'd be good to go.

Looks really good... I think the child-painted look is "in" right now :)
Adorable! You are so crafty! Love how you make things go from blah to Beautiful!
I am sure Lorelai will be painting with you in no time! My girls are always asking to paint. I tend to put them off because it is such a mess!
Man! You are so creative! I love what you did with the knobs and pulls!
those turned out so cute. i can't wait to see the finished product!
Those turned out great! and I had NO idea you could paint on those golden looking drawer handles. You may have just created a monster!
I think they turned out SOOOO cute! I can't wait to see it all complete!
you are amazingly talented! i love what you did and can't wait to see the dresser...and you are a great bargin hunter..awesome!!
I think they are cute... and I painted a plate for my mom a few years ago and tried to tell everyone Hanna did it - isn't that one of the perks of having kids?! :)
I never would have thought to paint that brass hardware-- nice!
And I'm DYIN' to see the dresser in all of it's redone glory! Then take pictures back to all of those people at the thrift shop who thought you were crazy the day you bought it :).
Whatever, dude... those are awesome - you're a great painter!
When you said Lorelai painted the flowers and butterflies, I got the biggest fright!!! I looked again and thought, my goodness - she is so much more advanced than Kailey. Not that I am a comparing mom, but that would have been impressive.... then I read on and saw you did do it!!! Phew, that saved Kailey a lot of drawing practice!
Your funny!
Now get off your butt and finish it so we can see what you come up with!!!!!!

Oh stop it, girl! Those are BRILLIANT!
My personal motto for art is: "it's the IMPERFECTIONS that make it truly great ART!"
I just love what you've done! *smile* I cannot wait to see the finished product!
I am a friend of Uma's over here in Germany and read your blog and I must say, your "from thrift store to glam" creations are so impressive. You do a great job!
I want one!!! =) Actually, when I saw the green pic, I kind of liked it but not the hardware...I know I have odd taste.

The handles turned out great! Love them and can't wait to see the finished product!!!

Those handles are to adorable!! Great job, as always!
Love your creativeness!
They originally looked like a little bra - similar to the one you used to wear!
Great work Rachel The Artist!
We finally found a house in NC to rent. Complete with "custom painting" throughout. Keep me informed of your next trip South so I can hire you as my personal decorator. AHHHH!

-no artistic talent in constant awe of yours.....
I would just like to see what room this went in where it came from. I can't quite imagine it looking good ANYWHERE in this shade of green. I don't know but call me close-minded.
